CRICKET HISTORY JUST DAYS AWAY
The curtain has drawn on the 2011/12 Big Bash League season at ANZ Stadium but the cricket action is far from over.
The debut of international cricket at ANZ Stadium is set to explode on Wednesday 1 February when Australia host India in an historic T20 contest.
The clash is shaping up as one of the biggest in Australian cricket history with the NSW crowd record of 58,446, set in 1928, well and truly under threat.
As well as being part of a record crowd, fans will be privy to the unbeatable excitement and atmosphere as two of the world’s best cricketing nations go head to head.
T20 superstar and ANZ Stadium Ambassador, David Warner, will lead the Aussie attack with his now famous habit of smashing giant sixes set to wow fans.
Warner relishes in the short boundaries at ANZ Stadium, with the straight-hit fence just 61.3m away.
He said: “It’s always great playing cricket at ANZ Stadium because you get good value for your shots.
“The fans like to see the big sixes.”
For India, Virender Sehwag will also be eyeing off the short boundary – the experienced batsman boasting an imposing strike rate of 153.43 in T20 internationals.
Don’t miss your chance to witness history in the making.
