APEC Business Travel Card criterion extended
The outcome of the review by the Department for Immigration and Citizenship as to extent of Australians Small Business eligibility in their pursuit of trade and investments with other APEC economies has been just released by The Hon Chris Bowen MP.
The new criteria will better recognize employees of Small to medium sized businesses to enjoy the same level of access to the APEC Business travel card.

NEW CRITERION = OCT 2011
Criterion .1. The applicant must travel a minimum of 4 business trips during 12 months period from the applicants place of residence to an APEC economy outside of AUSTRALIA for business purpose.
Criterion.2. The applicant is the CEO or equivalent, or a Board Member, or Owner or Director, or an Employee of an Australian based business nominated by any of the above officers
Criterion.3. The registered business entity or Australian based business which employs the applicant is engaged in International trade or Investment between APEC member economies and: Is identified in the current Forbes Global 2000 list, or Has received an Export Market Grant during previous 5years, or Has been a finalist in the Austrade Export Award during the previous 5 years, or has been certified by an “approved body”
Criterion.4. Any applicant residing outside of Australia who is authorized for residency and works in that economy
